As I was recently thinking about my retirement, I realised that I am now the longest-serving member at Port Alfred High School, having completed 35yrs this year.
While most adults are pursuing New Year’s resolutions and possibly going on detox diets, I cannot help but think of a detox of a different kind for our precious children… a digital detox.
Once you’ve been at Port Alfred High School as long as I have, it’s not just your school anymore, it’s part of your identity.
For the greater part of this year I have not been able to be in the classroom. I have been denied access to the place that gives me pride and joy.
I hope that this pandemic is over soon so that we can return to a new level of normal where we are still #StrongerTogetherPortAlfred.
