In light of the current threat, this notice serves to inform and reassure you that Port Alfred School is fully compliant with the directives set by the Department of Education and our President as per Sunday night’s announcement.
Our school will close on Wednesday 18 March at 10am. We are hoping to have the reports ready but there is a possibility that these may only be available at the start of the second term. The date for the reopening of the second term will be advised just as soon as it has been confirmed. At this stage, all we know is that it will be after the Easter Weekend: 9-13 April.
It is essential that every parent/guardian belong to both or at least one of the Port Alfred School WhatsApp Grade groups or the parents’ email database. If you have not already received a notification from our school on one or both of these platforms please send the necessary details to email@example.com / 084 607 6174 and you will be included. These two platforms will be the primary channels of communication going forward.
Learners, we encourage you to use this time wisely. Our teachers will be utilising distance learning methods and channels. Your academics remain a priority.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you well; stay calm and let us work together as a community and a nation to get through this.
